An example of coding with app inventor for teaching sustainability and nature based solutions
Emma Abbate Liceo Statale Alessandro Manzoni Caserta, Italia / University of Naples L’Orientale, Italy
Students have been introduced to the use of App Inventor 2 (an intuitive, visual programming environment that allows everyone – even children – to build fully functional apps for smartphones and tablets) in order to acquire the necessary tools to design their own App on the theme of eco-sustainable behaviour (a quiz game).
The project is conducted by working in groups (cooperative approach) for the creation of an information app aimed at helping the user to acquire information on environmentally friendly behaviour to adopt at home in order to acquire a sustainable style of life(such as, for example reducing electricity consumption in the home or water waste).
